Halliburton offers state-of-the-art industry training courses on hydraulic fracturing and the stimulation of horizontal wells & unconventional reservoirs.  Dr. Barree’s over 35 years of experience and contribution to the development of hydraulic fracture design simulators and fracture diagnostic procedures provide a unique perspective that is un-paralleled in the industry.  The courses are beneficial for engineers of all disciplines involved in hydraulic fracture stimulation of horizontal oil and gas wells and unconventional reservoir stimulation.

Open enrollment courses are scheduled at our training facility at our office in Lakewood, Colorado (just outside Denver).  In-house courses and custom courses can also be held upon request.  Select a course for more information.

Hydraulic Fracturing with GOHFER (36 hours) - Virtual Session

This course consists of 12, 3 hour sessions via Microsoft Teams from 9 am to noon Houston time.
The course begins with a general introduction to the GOHFER Hydraulic Fracturing Simulation software. No prior experience with GOHFER is required, but students should have general knowledge of hydraulic fracturing. During the course we will build several projects using data we provide. This will include a complete vertical well project, a single lateral horizontal well project, and a project with multiple laterals.

Please note that an active GOHFER license is required to take part in this course. The training is free of charge to one student per current licensed copy of GOHFER. Training licenses are available on a limited basis for a small fee.

This course will be taught by Dr. Robert Barree, Technology Fellow for Production Enhancement with Halliburton, assisted by Andy Benson and Kevin Svatek.
